the promotion and preservation of Scottish cultural activities
and traditions in the community at large.

The history of the
Scottish community in Argentina, goes back to the first
Scottish colonists who arrived on the sailing ship Symmetry.
This ship sailed form Leith, Scotland on the 22nd May 1825,
and arrived 78 days later in Buenos Aires on 8th August
1825. This sailing ship was commanded by Captain Smith,
and carried 220 colonists which consisted of 45 married
couples, 42 single men, 14 single women and 79 children.
